Contact Your ConsultantOld Alvarado Park is a historic gathering place, noted in the National Register of Historic Places, dating back 200 years when Native Americans lived there and ground acorns in its beautiful natural surroundings. It has gone through many transitions, serving as a speakeasy in the 1920s, and a dance pavilion and skating rink in the 1950s. Today it is known as an ideal picnic spot within Union City with a year-round beloved farmer’s market.
The playground at Old Alvarado Park features modern, arched Evos® and Weevos® play structures, which are attractive to kids due to their multiple entry points and unique look. Kids ages 5 to 12 will love the novel options available to them, like the LolliLadder™ – a fresh take on monkey bars that builds upper-body strength, and a Swiggle Stix Bridge®, which emphasizes balance and coordination. Netplay options abound, like the Hemisphere Climber®, which can be traversed up, down, across and sideways, for endless climbing options. A Cozy Coaster® Slide and a Wee Crawl® Tunnel give fun play options for visitors aged 2 to 5, and a Weevos Boppity Bridge® invites little ones to walk or crawl on a wobbly platform. Also for the preschoolers is the Giggle Jiggler® Climber – a unique playground feature that adds extra challenge for youngsters by promoting vestibular and proprioceptive stimulation.
