Set along the scenic waterfront of Castle Island in South Boston, the Robert M. Greene Memorial Playground honors a legacy of service while inviting a new generation into movement-rich play. Framed by sweeping harbor views and historic surroundings, the playground unfolds as an open, sculptural landscape where a strong sense of place shapes every moment of play. 

At its heart, a custom net-based structure ripples like the waves of the harbor, pulling children into a world of climbing, swaying, and continuous motion. Tensioned cables, flexible belting, and rope pathways stretch, dip, and respond underfoot. Steps away, a ship-themed PlayBooster® structure reflects local culture and history. Mast-inspired posts and recycled plastic lumber paneling echo the language of the waterfront, inviting children to captain their own adventures.

Inclusive, freestanding experiences extend the energy of the space. The multi-user, wheelchair-accessible We-Go-Round® and the We-Saw™ create shared moments of spinning and swaying, while a Weevos® play structure offers an age-appropriate environment for preschoolers to climb, explore, and build confidence at their own pace.
