Hidden Hollow Elementary

Saddle up, partners—because recess at Hidden Hollow Elementary has gone full western! This Wild-West-themed playground, part of Humble ISD’s district-wide initiative, brings the spirit of the frontier to life for children ages 5–12.

Kids can mosey into town through a welcoming arch that declares “Welcome to Hidden Hollow,” where a custom water tower play structure stands as the central landmark of town, complete with twisty tube slide and double slide. Multiple PlayBooster® structures come to life as a bustling frontier main street. Storefronts like the bank, jail, general store, and hotel invite imaginative role play, while cactus-themed posts and cowboy hat and boot motifs tie the scene together. Nearby, a custom train climber decked out with flexible cable netting and rubberized belting sits on surfacing decorated with train tracks.

A GFRC rock climber hides “gold nuggets” and old-timey mining gear, the Curva® Spinner whirls like a rodeo ride, and the custom bonfire makes a perfect gathering spot for storytelling. A five-bay swing set and a thrilling double-bay ZipKrooz® zipline keep the action moving.

With ramp access, pour-in-place surfacing, inclusive swing seating, and flexible climbing belts, Hidden Hollow ensures an inclusive experience for children of all abilities.
