The architectural play climbers at Gene Leahy Mall in Omaha, Nebraska, are as much public art as they are playground features. Kids will love climbing on them just as much as adults will enjoy admiring them.

Three orange archways serve as the focal point of the park, stretching across a zigzag-shaped wooden walkway. These custom climbers invite children to scramble up cable netting, rubberized belting, and pods, creating a dynamic play experience as the mall landscape unfolds around them. Beneath one of the arches, young visitors will be delighted to discover a forest of pod steppers suspended on cables, forming a climbing experience that’s as much about navigating through as it is about going up.

Nearby, a more traditional climbing wall—complete with handholds and footholds—stands against a neon yellow backdrop, inviting children to take on its vertical challenge and test their upper body strength by hanging and swinging. Finally, stainless steel slides are built into the park’s natural slopes, offering exciting ways to travel from up high to down low.
