The Franklin Square Elementary/Middle School playground is the first project in KABOOM’s "25 in 5" initiative, which is their five-year plan to end playspace inequity in 25 places. KABOOM builds “kid-designed” playspaces in cities where many kids lack access to healthy outdoor play environments, and the 25 in 5 initiative is an effort to level up their reach to more communities and more kids across the nation.

The playground at Franklin Square Elementary offers students and community children access to a fun, updated playspace with lots of options. Kids 5 to 12 can choose from two exhilarating Slidewinder2® slides and multiple upper-body strengthening overhead events. Pod Climbers® challenge their balance and a ReviWheel® Spinner provides whirling fun and vestibular stimulation to one or more children at once. Sensory panels like the Bongo Panel® are a great way to entice kids’ musical sense while Gear Panels offer a unique, mental challenge.
