Groves Elementary

At Groves Elementary School in Humble, Tex., an enchanted forest awaits students at recess. This magical, fairytale-inspired playground invites children to step into a storybook world filled with quirky cottages, towering trees, secret hideaways and unexpected adventures.

At the heart of the playground, a custom blue cottage looks like the home of a magical storybook character, complete with a sharply peaked roof and playful details. Perched high above the ground as if nestled among the treetops, the cottage can be reached by nature-inspired steppers shaped like tree stumps and toadstools or a teetering wooden ladder. From there, multiple slides and creative climbers spill from the cottage’s wings, while lifelike trees seem to grow right through its walls.

Behind the cottage, a towering hollow log home looks ready to welcome a few magical woodland creatures. Brave explorers can climb toward its sky-high lookout, topped with a custom leaf roof, before making the thrilling descent down a stainless steel twisty slide.

Nearby, a turquoise Forge® Climber adds another delightfully topsy-turvy adventure, with a rubberized belt bridge and vertical rope pathways offering different ways to cross. Whimsical spiral posts, flower accents and a Cozy Dome® add finishing touches to the enchanted setting, blending imaginative details with opportunities for climbing, balancing, sensory exploration and play.

Kids at Groves Elementary are truly lucky to have their favorite story books come to life on the playground.
