Constructing, updating, and sustaining playgrounds and other outdoor recreation initiatives requires funding, and numerous nationwide organizations extend financial assistance through grants. These grants don't require repayment and can substantially boost your budget.

Typically, grants are bestowed by government agencies, foundations, non-profits, or corporations. These entities recognize the positive impact outdoor recreation spaces have on communities, fostering children's healthy development while combatting childhood obesity. They also view outdoor play spaces as catalysts for community revitalization and may target donations towards low-income areas, inclusivity, nature-based play, or outdated playgrounds.

Many grants can apply to recreation initiatives beyond playgrounds, such as splash pads, outdoor fitness areas or adding shade to public spaces.
