Ingrid M. Kanics, OTR/L
Ingrid is an occupational therapist who has worked for more than 10 years helping communities create and manage amazing places where all children can play together. Besides a Masters of Occupational Therapy from Duquesne University, Ingrid has a Masters of Interior Architecture with an emphasis on inclusive, sustainable design from Chatham University. She owns her own consulting business, Kanics Inclusive Design Services, LLC, focusing on the creation and operation of inclusive indoor and outdoor play spaces. Ingrid presents at local, state and national conferences on the topics of play, sensory processing and Universal Design.
John McConkey, Market Insights Manager
John came to Landscape Structures in 2002 with more than 15 years of experience in the healthcare field, and offers a unique perspective on health, fitness and children’s play on the playground. His role includes researching societal and industry trends to help create new and innovative playground design solutions. John also develops IACET- and LA CES-approved continuing education programs for parks and recreation professionals, landscape architects and related disciplines. He has extensive experience delivering these educational seminars throughout North America and internationally. The focus of his recent programs include playground accessibility and inclusion, designing playgrounds to maximize physical activity, reconnecting children with nature and environmentally sustainable playground design.
Scott Roschi, Creative Director of Design
As our director of design, Scott brings more than 20 years of creative and technical design expertise to his leadership of our design team. His professional design background ranges from custom exhibits and displays to children’s museums and installations, so he understands the intricacies of how to make a stunning visual impact while also offering a very personal experience. Scott believes that every playground should strive to inspire the imagination of children, and they will most certainly take it from there.
Randy Watermiller, Vice President of Product Development
With more than 25 years of experience in the playground industry, Randy oversees the design of playground products including concept development, engineering, and material, cyclical endurance and compliance testing. In addition to his work at Landscape Structures, Randy is heavily involved with industry organizations such as IPEMA and ASTM, and is a Certified Playground Safety Inspector.
