Maine Recreation & Park Association Annual Conference Discusses How to Plant Seeds of Support

March 19, 2014 —Landscape Structures Inc., a Delano, Minn.-based commercial playground manufacturer, along with its playground consultant in Maine, M.E. O'Brien & Sons, Inc., is scheduled to exhibit at the Maine Recreation & Park Association Annual Conference from March 23 to 25 at the Holiday Inn by the Bay. The conference will feature Lori Hoffner, a nationally recognized speaker on youth program development, employment, and staff engagement, as well as community issues, as the keynote and presenting speaker. This learning experience was made possible through the 2013-2014 State Association Speaker Scholarship program from Landscape Structures.

Lori will present "Johnny Appleseeds of our Time: Planting the Seeds of Support." In her address, she will inspire and motivate attendees and help them remember "why they do what they do!" Lori will discuss how planting seeds—of creativity, inspiration, leadership, and support—will empower staff to make a difference in their daily work. These individuals are the most valuable asset in any organization, which is why it’s important to provide knowledge and skills to create a positive, strong internal work environment that gets translated externally to customers.

The 75-minute session will be presented on Monday, March 24, at 9 a.m. Following the session, delegates will have the opportunity to visit M.E. O'Brien & Sons and Landscape Structures in the exhibit hall to learn about the latest trends in playground design, including net play and zip lines.
