Partners in Inclusive Play

The National Association of Elementary School Principals is dedicated to supporting school leaders through resources, learning opportunities, mentorship, training and more. NAESP partners with Landscape Structures to encourage the healthy development of children of all abilities by collaborating on the design and build of inclusive playgrounds in deserving communities.

Landscape Structures and NAESP share a commitment to healthy children and successful futures—and to creating playgrounds where students of all abilities can play, learn and grow together.

Building Playgrounds on Community Service Day

Each year since 2009, NAESP and Landscape Structures have partnered to transform a selected school through a Community Service Day playground build. Using equipment donated by Landscape Structures, school leaders work together to install innovative, inclusive play structures that invite children of all abilities to learn, grow, and play side by side. With principals, educators, and volunteers joining forces, these community builds go beyond construction—they create stronger communities, inspire leadership, and showcase the power of play to bring people together. The collaboration highlights a shared commitment to fostering inclusive school environments where every child feels welcome, supported, and connected through play.

Recognizing Outstanding Assistant Principals

Logo of the National Outstanding Assistant Principals organization

Landscape Structures is proud to sponsor NAESP's National Outstanding Assistant Principals (NOAP) program. This prestigious program celebrates the exceptional contributions of assistant principals who demonstrate strong leadership, dedication, and a deep commitment to their school communities.

Each year, state principals associations nominate outstanding assistant principals for this honor, highlighting their excellence in educational leadership and their vital role in student success.

Honorees are recognized during National Assistant Principal Week and are invited to the annual NAESP Principals Conference, where they are celebrated for their achievements and leadership. We’re honored to partner with NAESP in supporting these inspiring educational leaders who help shape the future—one child, one school, and one community at a time.

State Executive Directors' Development Conference

Landscape Structures is proud to support the State Executive Directors’ Professional Development Conference—an annual event that brings together education leaders from across the country to strengthen the future of K–12 learning. This gathering of executive directors and senior staff from NAESP and NASSP (National Association of Secondary School Principals) focuses on leadership, strategy, and the unique challenges of managing educational associations. Our partnership with NAESP reflects a shared dedication to supporting our nation’s youth by creating environments—both in schools and on playgrounds—where every child can learn, grow, and thrive through strong leadership and meaningful play.

Meet Our Expert Speakers on Inclusive Play and Design

collage of three playground experts - one speaking on a stage, another speaking outside and another in a wheelchair after a raceAt Landscape Structures, we are committed to constantly evolving our understanding of how playground design impacts the lives of all children. As part of that commitment, we seek the advice of experts with lived experience and/or professional training in the areas of child development, product design and inclusivity.

Our three expert speakers are passionate about sharing their knowledge at professional development events and conferences. They are enthusiastic and engaging communicators who have valuable insight to share with professionals -- educational administrators and teachers -- who are similarly dedicated to the well-being of children.

Inclusive Play Specialists Jill Moore and Ariel Mansholt, OTD, OTR/L, CPSI bring invaluable and unique perspectives on how play is central to the healthy development of all children, regardless of ability, and that the intentional design of play spaces has a profound impact on whether a playground is truly inclusive. Scott Roschi, our Creative Director, has more than 30 years of design leadership, and is an expert on how color, form, and imagination create inspiring play spaces.
