- On August 18, Barb and Steve King are presented with the Christian Peterson Award from Iowa State University's College of Design for safe and innovative designs for children
- Landscape Structures receives award from the Minnesota Recreation and Park Foundation for contribution to the recreation, park and leisure service field
- In May, Barb King was inducted as an Honorary Membership of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), a title awarded to non-landscape architects whose achievements of national or international significance or influence have provided notable service to the profession of landscape architecture; Barb had the honor of being the first spouse of an ASLA member, Steve King, to be inducted as an Honorary Member
