As the National Recreation and Park Association's(NRPA) Thought Leader, we partnered with NRPA to survey park and recreation agencies throughout the U.S. to encourage the exchange of ideas, best practices and programs around sustainability.
In 2009, the first annual Barb King Environmental Stewardship awards were announced, recognizing a parks and recreation professional and agency that shared Barb's commitment to environmental stewardship. We have long valued the dedicated work of park and recreation professionals and believe that by working closely with them, we can help create healthy children and sustainable communities now and in the future.
We are proud to provide scholarships to support the appearances of speakers at state park and recreation associations' annual and regional conferences.
