Building Inclusive Playgrounds Around the World
The organization currently has 32 Universally Accessible Playgrounds open, including the first in Mexico, and are proud to have been a design partner in three playground projects with the 2010 Winter Olympics. In the next year, Shane's Inspiration will be opening 10 more playgrounds across the U.S. This visionary organization has taken accessible playgrounds to a whole new level, not only helping communities build these beautiful play environments from conception to completion, but also ensuring that they are utilized through inclusive play programs. Via family and school programs, these playgrounds are transformed into outdoor classrooms where compassion is the core curriculum.
Landscape Structures is pleased to be working with Shane's Inspiration toward a common goal of promoting play for all kids. Tiffany Harris, co-founder of Shane's Inspiration, is a member of our The Inclusive Play Advisory Board , to help advance the inclusive and sensory play movement. Landscape Structures supports the mission of truly inclusive playgrounds and play areas where all kids, regardless of ability, can play together.
