Land does not need to be selected in order to submit an entry, although the potential Grand Prize winner must have a letter of intent or proof of commitment from a public entity prior to being awarded the prize. Winner must be able to complete project installation and programming implementation by December 31, 2012.
The essay must be written in English, and no essay may exceed 1,000 words. The essay, which will be submitted by uploading a Word or .PDF document to the Contest Website, can include photos and/or a video link, but full document size is limited to 5 MB or 5000 kb.

All eligible entries received will be judged by staff judges on or about August 19, 2011, in order to select ten (10) semifinalists from each of the five regional pools described in Rule #7 (each a "Regional Finalist"; collectively the "Regional Finalists"). All eligible entries received will be judged within each Contestant's respective regional Contestant pool.
All potential winners will be notified and briefly interviewed to verify eligibility. Once eligibility is confirmed, winners will receive contest affidavits, releases and other contest documents to complete and submit in order to receive prizes.
Prize Winner's responsibilities: In order to remain qualified to receive the Grand Prize, during the entire Contest Period, prize winners must continuously meet all Contest eligibility requirements, including, without limitation, execution and delivery of Contest Affidavits and Releases and compliance with all other requirements, including:
- Project installation and programming implementation completed by December 31,2012;
- Execution and delivery of Shane's Inspiration project design agreement;
- Execution and delivery of Shane's Inspiration "Together, We Are Able" education program agreement;
- Execution and deliver of agreement to maintain Sponsors' signage on playground site;
- Community partnership satisfactory to Sponsors to develop and complete an inclusive playground;
- Payment of any applicable taxes/duties due upon prize award
In the event that the first deemed Grand Prize Winner or Regional Winners do not comply, as determined by Sponsors in Sponsors' sole discretion, with all of the foregoing requirements, winners will forfeit the Grand Prize and be disqualified from further participation in the Contest. In such event, Sponsors shall name the appropriate Runner-Up as the deemed Grand Prize or Regional Prize Winner.
No. The prizes are subject to availability and are subject to restrictions. There is no substitution or cash equivalent of any Grand Prize or First Place Prize except at the Sponsor's sole discretion due to unavailability of the Grand Prize or Regional Prize for any reason, and only then for a prize of equal or greater value.
Winner is responsible for project installation and programming implementation, with the approval of the public entity where the playground is to be built, to be completed by December 31, 2012. Community involvement is encouraged throughout this contest, from entrance to installation and implementation of programming, however we encourage installation and construction be the responsibility of the public entity where the playground will be built.
Yes. By accepting a prize, each prize winner (i) agrees to Sponsor's use of advertising or publicity purposes of winner's name and address (city & state), photograph, videotape and/or likeness and to the use of statements made by or attributed to winner relating to the Contest, Sponsors, Sponsors' distributors and products and services, and (ii) grants to Sponsors any and all rights to said use world-wide in all forms of media now known or hereinafter devised, in perpetuity, without further compensation or notice, unless prohibited by law.
Winner is responsible for (but not limited to) the following:
• Project installation and programming implementation completed by December 31, 2012; • Shane’s Inspiration has final design control and sign off on playground project; • Commitment to implement Shane’s Inspiration “Together, We Are Able” education program agreement; • Execution and delivery of agreement to maintain Sponsors’ signage on playground site; • Community partnership satisfactory to Sponsors to develop and complete an inclusive playground; • Payment of taxes/duties, if applicable, due upon prize award.
In addition but not limited to:
• Securing commitment from municipality of publicly developed land for playground • All site pre-installation preparation including, if necessary, construction documents • Installation of playground equipment including but not limited to accessible safety surfacing, curbing and walkways and landscaping • Shipping, Taxes and Duties (if applicable) • All additional project costs above and beyond awarded prize stated in the contest rules • All grand prize and runner-up winners agree to implement social inclusion programming on their inclusive playgrounds following grand openings, with support and resources provided by Shane’s Inspiration. Social inclusion programming may include, but is not limited to, play-based recreation programs, school field trips to the playgrounds, and ability awareness education programs that support social interaction between children with and without disabilities.
