Inclusive Play Stories

We believe play is for everyone!

Landscape Structures is committed to providing play experiences for children of all abilities. In our playground products and our playground designs, we go beyond the minimum accessibility requirements.

Here are just some of the great stories behind the creation of some inspiring playgrounds.

AMBUCS HUB City Playground story
AMBUCS is a national organization dedicated to creating opportunities for people with disabilities. After a group of people approached AMBUCS to replace a playground next to a hospital, not only did they raise $500,000 within months, they changed the playground's design after a little girl who uses a wheelchair suggested that adding tunnel slides would be more fun for kids of all abilities.  Learn more.
Rotary Playground by Tom Brown Park
The City of Tallahassee long dreamed of building an inclusive playground, but didn't have the necessary funding. So the Tallahassee Rotary Club, in honor of its centennial year, elected to foot almost half the bill. Now, children of all ages and abilities play together in a wide array of activities. Even Florida State University has been drawn to the park, where it holds lectures on playground design. Learn more.
Still Meadows Elementary School in Stamford, Conn.
With a parent's dedication, help from inclusive playground experts and a creative landscape architect, the playground at Still Meadows Elementary School was born. Now children of all abilities are able to engage in play together on their new 25,000 square-foot playground. Learn more.
